Dear students, lecturers and staff,
We would like to inform you about the study process at the Faculty of Philology in the 2021 autumn semester. As you have learnt from the Rector’s message, Vilnius University is eager to welcome us all back to normal: study activities carried out face-to-face on campus, meetings and discussions in the classroom and the yards.
If the situation changes, we will inform you as soon as possible. Please check your university e-mail and is.vu.lt regularly, do not forget to check the faculty's webpage and Facebook page from time to time. We also invite you to share the information with others.
Information for students
STUDIES' ARRANGEMENTS
- BA studies are carried out in the blended learning mode.
- Lectures and seminars for large groups of students (40+) are held online at 8:30 or 17:30.
- Other study activities will take place in the face-to-face mode on campus at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00.
- MA studies take place in the face-to-face mode on campus at 15:00, 17:00 and 19:00 or at other times mutually agreed upon by teachers and students (concentrated in one half of the day, i.e. before/after the noon).
The schedules will be adjusted appropriately.
PARTICIPATION IN FACE-TO-FACE ACTIVITIES
- Only those students who meet the following criteria are allowed to take part in the face-to-face study activities on campus:
- Vaccinated with one of the following vaccines: Comirnaty / Spikevax (1 week after the second dose); COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen (2 weeks after the single dose); Vaxzevria (4 weeks, but not more than 13 weeks after the first dose and immediately after the second dose);
- Recovered from COVID-19 and vaccinated with one of the above-mentioned vaccines (2 weeks after the first dose).
- Recovered from COVID-19 (up to 210 days after the positive COVID-19 test result or in the case of positive quantitative or semi-quantitative serological immunoassay for COVID-19 IgG antibodies or total antibodies test result that is valid for up to 60 days).
- Tested and obtained a negative SARS-CoV-2 PCR test result (valid for 48 hours after the sample is collected).
International students arriving from abroad should have received information about arrival matters, isolation etc. by now.
You will get another message from the University informing about how to present your national certificate (“galimybių pasas”) or other equivalent documents, e.g. EU COVID-certificate.
EXCEPTIONS
- Those who do not present the requested certificates without any reason will not be allowed to take part in the study activities on campus.
- The absence will only be justified in the following cases:
1. Serious health problems (you will have to present a document of proof);
2. Being prevented from arrival because of visa problems etc. - If one of these cases applies to you, please contact us as soon as possible at , we will take a look at every situation individually.

If for some reasons you cannot obtain the national certificate (“galimybių pasas”) or the EU COVID-certificate, please contact the Dean.
EXCEPTIONS

- The absence will only be justified in the following cases:
1. Serious health problems (you will have to present a document of proof);
2. Being prevented from arrival because of visa problems etc.
If such a case (1. or 2.) is confirmed in a course unit’s group, the lecturer chooses how to proceed (see the three options below) and informs about his/her decision the Dean, the Study Department (), Head of the Study Programme Committee, the administrators via VU e-mail and his/her students via VMA (emokymai) and/or MS MS Teams. The options include:
- remote/online teaching with the whole group;
- hybrid teaching: working with the group on campus while those several students take part in the study activities online at the same time ;
- contact teaching with the group on campus and individual consultations (not included in your workload and based on your free will) for those who have confirmed reasons preventing them from contact studies.
We fully understand that hybrid teaching is a challenge, so we offer you several options.
