The online Lithuanian language & culture winter course is taking place on 4–29 January. 26 students have joined the course from 13 different countries, including Australia, Austria, Denmark, India, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, France, Russia, Finland, Hungary, and Denmark. 6 students will participate in the two-week studies (4–15 January) while 20 students will study for a month (4–29 January).

In view of the threat of the spread of COVID-19 infection, the decisions of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania to declare quarantine and to protect the health of our community members, the coronavirus prevention team decided that all activities at the university by 31 December should be continued remotely.

Meanwhile, the Senate of Vilnius University has decided that all study activities at the university will be carried out remotely by the end of this autumn semester.

After long deliberations, having assessed the COVID-19 related risks and with regard to the recommendations of the COVID-19 risk management group of Vilnius University, we have come to a decision not to organise the Lithuanian language summer course in the summer 2020.
