Lingivistai žino, kad žmogiškoji kalba turi dvigubą pobūdį: viena vertus, ji yra individualus kognityvinis fenomenas,kita vertus, ji egzistuoja visuomenėje ir yra socialinis reiškinys. Tačiau ši priešprieša nesiriboja kalbos mokslu - ji yra dėmesio centre kognityviniuose ir socialiniuose moksluose apskritai. Savo paskaitoje Victor de Munck aptars šios priešpriešos istoriją ir savo požiūri į ją kaip kognityvinio antropologo. Kognityvinė antropologija - disciplina sankirtoje tarp kognityvinių ir socialinių mokslų. Paskaitos dėmesio centre yra reikšmės sąvoka, kuri, nors yra ir kalbotyros objektas, nesiriboja tik kalbotyra.
Paskaita bus įdomi visiems, kas norėtų įsigyti platesnį tarpdisciplininį žvilgsnį į tradicines kalbos tyrimų problemas.

Prof. Victor de Munck anksčiau dirbo State University of New York (New Paltz). 2019 m. profesoriui buvo įteiktas JAV Antropologijos mokslų draugijos (Society for Anthropological Sciences) prizas už geriausią 2019 metų mokslinį darbą antropologijos srityje. Profesoriaus tyrinėjimų sritys: Sociokultūrinė antropologija, kognityvinė antropologija, tarpkultūriniai tyrimai, kultūriniai modeliai, Šri Lanka, romantinė meilė.

We cordially invite you to the lecture/seminar of Victor de Munck, professor of cognitive anthropology of the Faculty of Philosophy: Cultural models, agency, and affordances: looking for meaning on 17th March, Friday, at 3 pm, in room 92.
Linguists know that human language has a dual nature: on the one hand, it is an individual cognitive phenomenon, on the other, it exists in society and is a social phenomenon. However, this opposition is not limited to language science - it is the focus of attention in cognitive and social sciences in general. In his lecture, Victor de Munck will discuss the history of this opposition and his perspective on it as a cognitive anthropologist. Cognitive anthropology is a discipline at the intersection of cognitive and social sciences. The focus of the lecture is on the concept of meaning, which, although it is also an object of linguistics, is not limited to linguistics.
The lecture will be of interest to anyone who would like to acquire a broader interdisciplinary perspective on traditional problems in language research.

Prof. Victor de Munck previously worked at the State University of New York (New Paltz). In 2019 professor was awarded the prize of the American Society for Anthropological Sciences for the best scientific work in the field of anthropology 2019. Professor's research areas: Sociocultural anthropology, cognitive anthropology, cross-cultural studies, cultural models, Sri Lanka, romantic love.
