The Psycholinguistics Research Group brings together researchers who conduct psycholinguistic experiments. The main research areas of the Group are the following:
1. Language processing: experimental studies of text comprehension during reading and studies on the structure of the mental lexicon (words, their morphological and collocational relations in our memory).
2 Second language acquisition: experimental studies focusing on the processes of second language acquisition, with a particular focus on incidental vocabulary acquisition and the effectiveness of different teaching methods.
3. Language accessibility: research focusing on increasing the comprehensibility and accessibility of language for different social groups (people with language or learning difficulties, people with dementia, older adults, second language speakers), as well as on inclusive communication solutions. In addition to experimental research in this field, our researchers develop methodological guidelines, promote the concepts of plain language and easy language, and maintain a broad network of contacts among specialists.
