Dr. Anjos Mrak paskaitos

Slovėnijos Liublianos universiteto Filosofijos fakulteto dėstytoja dr. Anja Mrak vasario 26 ir 28 d. K. Donelaičio auditorijoje skaitys paskaitas apie Rytų-Vidurio Europos slavų literatūrą.

  • Vasario 26 d., antradienis, 15 val.: Trends in contemporary Slovenian fiction
The lecture offers a brief overview of contemporary Slovenian literature and its development after WWII, particularly after 1991, when Slovenia attained independence, as well as a comparison of Slovenian and Lithuanian literature, since I believe the two share several parallels in terms of their social and political history. The lecture will centre around an interesting trend in Slovenian literature after 2000, when perhaps somewhat surprisingly a resurgence of the historical narrative occurred, a narrative that considers anew World War II and the period directly after it. This trend will be presented through an analysis of the critically acclaimed novel I Saw Her That Night by Drago Jančar, which deals with political killings during and after World War II.

  • Vasario 28 d., ketvirtadienis, 13 val.: Contemporary short fiction by Slovenian women authors
Short stories are uniquely placed to depict the experience of the individualized and fragmented contemporary world. The lecture focuses on the contemporary Slovenian short fiction by women authors, which on the one hand portrays the workaday events and on the other the pathological dimensions of the modern world. After a brief delineation of the development of feminist fiction in Slovenia, contemporary Slovenian writers Suzana Tratnik and Anja Mugerli will be discussed, with an emphasis on feminist elements in their short stories.
